Naracoorte is located between Adelaide and Melbourne approximately 100klms north of Mount Gambier. The current township is predominantly served by a gravity sewer system. There were two areas within the town boundary that were unable to connect to the existing system due to limited gradient and the underlying limestone. The combined reticulation of 2.5klms was installed using directional boring technologies, open cut excavation and some rock sawing was used to combat the rock. The E.one 2010iP Pressure Sewer Pump Unit (PSU) was used. Most installations required the use of pneumatic jack hammers to break through the limestone shelf. There were two motels that were serviced in this project and both these installations required larger storage tanks and a two pump configuration which included a duty/standby arrangement.
